Anna Cathcart and Sang Heon Lee Talk the ‘XO Kitty’ Ending and More

Anna Cathcart and Sang Heon Lee chat with The Nerds of Color’s Jacki Jing to talk about the ending of the third season of XO Kitty, what they think Kitty and Minho would watch — KPop Demon Hunters or Singles’ Inferno, and their love for the fans of the show. Cathcart says Kitty would watch BOTH intensely, and Minho would secretly love it.

In the end scene between Kitty and Minho reuniting at the train station, with Minho telling Kitty that he loves her. Kitty responds with, “You what?” The scene is a callback to To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, when Peter (Noah Centineo) told Kitty’s big sister Lara Jean (Lana Condor) that he loved her, and she responded, “You what?”

Cathcart loved that moment, telling The Nerds of Color, “I loved their little romantic confession to each other in the train station, and the ‘I love you, Kitty’ and [Kitty’s response]. I feel Kitty could say the same thing Lara Jean did. I was so grateful that the writers were very excited about that idea. And they put it in.”

Lee is excited about how the show’s viewers/fans would react to Minho being in the same setting next season (if there is one), in Kitty’s home in Washington. He was curious about how Kitty’s dad would react to Minho. He laughs, “Maybe he could be gentlemanly, or he could be very awkward. He could be very shy. Definitely imagined all these scenarios in our heads, and that’s actually something to look forward to.”
