‘Iwájú’ Artisans on Bringing Their Experiences and Stories to Life

Iwájú is an all-new animated series that marks the first time that Walt Disney Animation Studios has collaborated with an outside studio. The Nerds of Color had a chance to talk to director and writer Olufikayo Ziki Adeola, along with production designer Hamid Ibrahim and Tolu Olowofoyeku about working together with Disney animation, telling a story through an authentic lens, and which animal they would have as a companion if they were to go out on an adventure.

‘Iwájû’ Trailer Teases Dazzling Afro-Futuristic Animation Series for Disney+

Disney, in collaboration with Pan-African Comic Book Entertainment Company Kugali, has released the first trailer for Iwájú. The all-new animated series, which follows two friends from two different worlds whose actions will decide the future, is set to make its debut later this month.

Disney and Kugali’s ‘Iwájú’ Debuts in February

All six episodes of Iwájú, a Walt Disney Animation Studios’ collaboration with Pan-African entertainment company Kugali, will make its official streaming debut on February 28, 2024, exclusively on Disney+.
