Tamara Taylor and Danielle Moné Truitt Preview the ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Season Finale

Law & Order: Organized Crime airs Thursday nights on NBC, and will be returning with a new season in Fall 2021. I got the chance to speak with Tamara Taylor and Danielle Moné Truitt, who both star in the new series, and ask them all my Organized Crime questions! The show premiered back in April and has already done some amazing crossovers with Law & Order: SVU. The season finale, titled, “Forget it, Jake; It’s Chinatown,” will premiere on June 3 at 10 PM ET.

Christopher Meloni, reprising his role as Elliot Stabler, returns to the NYPD to battle organized crime after a devastating personal loss. However, the city and police department have changed dramatically in the decade he’s been away and he must adapt to a criminal justice system in the midst of its own moment of reckoning. Stabler will aim to find absolution and rebuild his life while leading a new elite task force that is taking apart the city’s most powerful criminal syndicates one by one.

As Wheatley goes to court to face the litany of charges against him, Richie makes moves to save himself and his family name. Morales and Washburn keep close tabs on their star witness. Bell and Stabler must cope with a sudden development in the case.

Taylor can be seen for 11 seasons on Fox’s Bones and made her feature film debut in Tyler Perry’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Other notable credits include Netflix’s Altered Carbon and October Faction.

The actress takes on the role of Angela Wheatley, who is a prominent figure in the academic community. After keeping the fact that she married into the most powerful crime family in New York a secret, she has now teamed up with Bell and Stabler to destroy Wheatley’s empire for good after discovering that the death of her son was arranged by her ex-husband. Meanwhile, her feelings for Stabler are still as complicated as ever.

Truitt was chosen by the late John Singleton for the title role of his drama series Rebel and recently can be seen in Fox’s Deputy as a series regular.

She currently portrays Sergeant Ayanna Bell, who has worked her way up the ranks with speed and precision in a system that traditionally hasn’t made it easy for women to advance. For years, she’s been trying to make a case against Wheatley and knows it could be the last one she ever leads if her task force fails. But the team has her back and won’t let her down. On top of that, her wife’s lawsuit against the NYPD and the impending arrival of her first child has set her on a new path filled with challenges.
