Steve Zahn and June Diane Raphael Talk ‘8-Bit Christmas’ on HBO Max

Steve Zahn and June Diane Raphael star as John and Kathy Doyle in 8-Bit Christmas, which tells a humorous and heartfelt look back at the adventures of childhood. The new holiday film will debut exclusively Wednesday, November 24 on HBO Max.

Set in suburban Chicago in the late 1980s, the story centers on ten-year-old Jake Doyle’s herculean quest to get the latest and greatest video game system for Christmas.

Raphael currently co-stars in the hit Netflix series Grace and Frankie as Brianna, which is going into its seventh and final season. Recently, she can be seen in the comedy Long Shot. Her television credits include Black Monday, I’m Sorry, Fresh Off the Boat, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Lady Dynamite, New Girl, The League, Flight of the Conchords, American Dad!, Big Mouth, and The Muppets.

The actress has also appeared in films, such as The Disaster Artist, Blockers, Zodiac, Bachelorette, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The High Note, and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Notable achievements include the 2013 Sundance Film Ass Backwards, which she co-wrote and starred in.

Zahn recently starred in the highly praised HBO limited series The White Lotus. He also premiered his three-episode short series An Uncandid Portrait at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival with his producing partner actor/director Rick Gomez. The actor is currently filming Your Place or Mine and will next star in the independent comedy Gringa.

His film credits include Cowboys, Uncle Frank, Dallas Buyers Club, War for the Planet of the Apes, Where’d You Go, Bernadette, Rescue Dawn, Captain Fantastic, Happy Texas, SubUrbia, as well as That Thing You Do!. Other television credits include The Good Lord Bird, Valley of the Boom, Treme, Mind Games, Comanche Moon, Modern Family, and The Crossing.
