Garfield (voiced by Chris Pratt), the world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat, is about to have a wild outdoor adventure! After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father – scruffy street cat Vic (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) – Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist.
“I mean, it’d be kind of dope to see him [Garfield] with Star-Lord. Yeah, he’d fit nicely in there, because his personality is different from anyone else’s personality. I think he has some good one-liners. He’s lazy and pampered, and snarky and sarcastic. I think he’d be a good fit in the MCU. But you’d have to make it a real version of Garfield,” the actor told me. “He’d have to be a living, breathing animal that you could really feel for and really see. I like it, man. ‘Cause they had Howard the Duck in the MCU, you could put Garfield in there.”

We discussed what an MCU crossover with Garfield and Star-Lord would look like, why he values doing animated projects for the whole family, and the first time he saw his version of Garfield.
