This year’s Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights is about get even scarier. In addition to the haunted houses inspired by films like Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and A Quiet Place, the Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood bring Insidious: The Further to life in an all new creepy and terrifying haunted house that will surely send shivers down your spine and make you run for your life.
Inspired by the supernatural horror film created by James Wan, with the mythology expanded by Leigh Whannell, Adam Robitel, and Patrick Wilson, guests will travel deeper into the paranormal dimension of tortured souls and demonic entities when they enter the newly announced haunted house. The terrifying journey through the darkness is set to begin Friday, August 30 at Universal Orlando Resort and Thursday, September 5 at Universal Studios Hollywood.
The films followed Lamberts, a family haunted by evil supernatural forces after their son, Dalton, slips into an inexplicable comatose state after becoming possessed by a demonic entity. They hire a team of paranormal investigators and Elise Rainer a powerful psychic to help get their son back. The third, a prequel, centered on Elise Rainier who ventures deep into The Further after she is approached by a young girl who believes her mother is trying to contact her from the beyond. The fourth, follows Elise once more as she returns to her haunted childhood home to investigate a paranormal disturbance. The fifth, and most recent, sees an older Dalton head off the college only to discover that the demons he thought he repressed with the help of his family and Elise resurface to haunt him and his father.

According to the press release, guests will follow in the footsteps of the Lamberts, encountering familiar settings and scares as they are transported directly into “The Further” – the ethereal place where ghosts and demons lurk. And just like in the films, guests will quickly learn that the paranormal creatures are here to stay. As the guests step through the iconic red door, where many of the tormented spirits and demons from the franchise await – determined to ensnare humans and steal their souls. Fans will come face-to-face with The Red-Faced Demon, who will attempt to lure them into his lair; the grim KeyFace, hoping to lock his victims in this dark dimension; the ghastly and dangerous Bride in Black; and the vengeful spirit of the Man Who Can’t Breathe. As guests make their way through the haunted house, they’ll go from red door to red door – traveling deeper into a dark and timeless astral world where they must evade this collection of sinister creatures at every spine-chilling turn, or their souls will be trapped here…forever.
