Voice actress Melique Berger has been a fixture in animation and anime for decades, bringing Black representation to life in your favorite series and franchises.

She was the voice of “Coffee” in Cowboy Bebop, one of the first prominent Black characters in anime, as well as in The Legend of Zelda universe as the voice of Kaysa the Great Fairy in the video game Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. And now in the English dub of Pokémon Horizons, Berger voices Gym Leader Ryme of Paldea, providing a challenge to main character Roy on his Pokémon journey.
