‘Stop! That! Train!’ Executive Producer Chris Quintos Cathcart on Making Films for POCs

Chris Quintos Cathcart is one of the biggest names in entertainment dedicated to changing the landscape for POCs. Through her banner, Unapologetic Projects, she has been one of the most vocal supporters in expanding the industry to allow for the spotlight to shine on underrepresented cultures, ensuring that interesting roles are established for diverse voices. She has previously done this through breakout films like Didi (2024), and is keeping things rolling forward with this year’s RuPaul starrer, Stop! That! Train!

As a Filipinx voice in the industry, Cathcart grew frustrated with the lack of representation and interesting roles for People of Color. However rather than simply voicing those frustrations through social media or at a bar with friends, she took things a step further and did something about it. Cathcart started Unapologetic Projects solely for the purpose of ensuring movies and projects with good, substatial roles for People of Color could be discovered and flourish in a landscape where they are scarce.

For her latest release Stop! That! Train!, she’s teaming up with RuPaul and director Adam Shankman (Hairspray, A Walk to Remember) to bring us a hilarious action-comedy packed with incredible representation for the LGBTQ+ community and POCs everywhere. And to celebrate we have an exclusive interview with her, to discuss the movie and all she and Unapologetic Projects has done for underrepresented voices in the industry!

Take a look at our conversation with her right here:
