Navia Robinson on ‘Gotham Knights’ and Reimagining Our Heroes

The CW’s Gotham Knights takes place in a world we might all recognize, but for Navia Robinson it represents a turning point in how the audience can connect with — and visualize — our heroes. As Navia astutely noted in the course of our conversation, the world is changing, and our caped crusaders have a chance to change right along with it, leaving us all the better for it.

‘Titans’ to Return with Season 3 in Gotham City

We knew with all of the casting calls for Barbara Gordon, Scarecrow, and Tim Drake that Titans this season would be dealing with the Bat-Family and their time in Gotham City. And, with the new trailer for HBO Max’s Titans, we were correct in that assumption. The gang — Nightwing (Brenton Thwaites), Starfire (Anna Diop), Beast Boy (Ryan Potter), Raven (Teagan Croft), Hawk (Alan Ritchson), Dove (Minka Kelly), Donna (Conor Leslie) [yes, she lives!], and Conner (Joshua Orpin) — all head to Gotham to face a foe after learning that Jason Todd (Curran Walters) aka the second Robin has been killed by the Joker.

‘Gotham High’ Breathes Fresh Life into the Bat Mythos

Traditional superhero comics have been part of the American pop culture firmament for eight decades. And more often than not, those stories can feel staid and mired in nostalgia for long bygone eras. Which is why creators who come along with bold new interpretations of these characters are usually met with resistance. To wit, when the book trailer for Gotham HighDC Comics’ latest foray into the young adult book market — debuted, the fanboy set went apoplectic.

Happy Holidays from Gotham City and The Nerds of Color
