In 2020, Executive Producers (and geniuses) Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey unveiled a gritty HBO Max reboot of the iconic legal hero, Perry Mason, to the world. Audiences who were unsure of how the change in tone would work for the 1930s character were quickly wowed by the grounded, and relevant take on the character Team Downey, the cast, and the showrunners took with the material.

Arden Cho Stars in Netflix’s ‘Partner Track’

It looks like we’re getting another Asian-led career series from Netflix. Fresh off the success of Sandra Oh’s The Chair, the streaming giant announced a new series based on Helen Wan’s novel, The Partner Track. Created by Georgia Lee, Partner Track tells the story of Ingrid Yun (Arden Cho), an idealistic young lawyer as she struggles with her moral compass and passion for law as she fights to club the partner track at an elite New York City firm.

Kristin Kreuk on Ending ‘Burden of Truth’ and 20 Years of ‘Smallville’

For the last four seasons, Kristin Kreuk has been playing Joanna Chang on the hit Canadian series Burden of Truth. While the series wrapped its run back in March on the CBC, the show has been playing to American audiences on The CW, a network that Kristin is very familiar with, having played Lana Lang for seven seasons on Smallville.

I got the chance to speak to Kristin about wrapping her show, the importance of representation, and what it’s like to be back on the network she helped launch.
