‘Supergirl’ Showrunners, Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner, Discuss the Final Season

Supergirl, which is based on the characters from the DC Universe, is back for its sixth and final season after premiering back in 2016. The hit CW series returns on Tuesday, March 30 at 9 pm ET and series stars Melissa Benoist in the title role while Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner serve as executive producers.

This season, Supergirl will be forced to confront her own mortality, as well as the possibility of losing all hope. On top of that, a new villain will arrive in National City. Supergirl and her friends will deal with the issues of social justice such as prejudice, racism, and intolerance, which Kara will also tackle as a journalist. At the end of the day, the Superfriends will have to examine the use of their own powers and confront their blindspots.

We will see Supergirl find out that her true power comes from within, and that her most valuable gift is inspiring others to discover the same. Our Superfriends will learn that the ultimate way for heroes to help the world is by empowering each individual, because we are stronger together.

I had the chance to speak with showrunners Queller and Rovner about what can be expected from Supergirl’s final season, strong female characters, the show’s legacy, their favorite relationship to develop, a message to fans, and more! Listen to our full conversation at the 54:00 mark of this week’s episode of Hard NOC Life below.

Find out? They’ve been making this point for several seasons. Regardless of which, I’ll be glad to see the show back.
