Shanola Hampton produces and stars as Gabi Mosely in Found. The drama has already been renewed for a second season by NBC and you can watch all episodes of the first season on Peacock.

In any given year, more than 600,000 people are reported missing in the U.S. More than half that number are people of color that the country seems to forget about. Public relations specialist Gabi Mosely (series star and producer Shanola Hampton) — who was once herself one of those forgotten ones — and her crisis management team now make sure there is always someone looking out for the forgotten missing people. But unbeknownst to anyone, this everyday hero is hiding a chilling secret of her own.

“It was always never going to be heard what Gabi said, but there was something written, so the confession was written out,” the actress revealed about the scene her character finally tells the rest of the team about keeping Sir in her basement. “I got the pages for it, I don’t know, a night or something before we shot that scene, and I’m very big on being off-book right away. So I was like, ‘Oh, this is so long and I got to be off-book,’ but I also knew for the actors, I needed to be off-book and tell the story properly, right? So that they could give their organic [reactions] and we have such wonderful actors, you have the Kelli Williams of the world, you have the Karans and Gabrielles and Arlens, and they are so connected to their characters. So, I thought it was such a beautiful choice to have it be seen and not heard, to be felt. I think you feel the emotion more.”
