‘IF’ Star Cailey Fleming Talks Connecting with the Story and Emotional Scenes

Cailey Fleming portrays Bea in IF. The movie, which is perfect for the whole family to enjoy together, is now playing in theaters everywhere.

IF is about a girl who discovers that she can see everyone’s imaginary friends — and what she does with that superpower — as she embarks on a magical adventure to reconnect forgotten IFs with their kids.

“They [John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds] were absolutely amazing. I know for me, I really didn’t act in this movie at all. It was really just me,” the actress explained. “A lot of people ask me like, ‘How do you cry,’ and I feel like whenever you connect with a script that much, you don’t have to have a technique. It kind of just came naturally to me because I was so moved by the scenes we were doing but they were the best. We had a very calm environment when we were doing those kinds of things. When we did the more heavy stuff with me and John, he made sure everyone like cleared the room, quiet, dim lights and I think they just made it as easy as it could be. I was really just crying as myself, so they were very supportive and they were always there for me. I would just hug them all the time.”
