‘Hamilton’ on 4K will Blow Us All Away

A decade after taking the world by storm, fans of Hamilton will no longer have to wait for it to come to physical media. Disney has announced a special collector’s edition 4K UHD blu-ray will be available on June 16!

In addition to the pro-shot version of the show that streamed on Disney+, the collectors edition will include an additional “sing-along” version, two documentaries — including the exclusive Spark into a Flame: Hamilton & Hip-Hop, exploring the show’s roots in rap music and culture — as well as a ton of extras like a fabric poster, a set of collectible art cards, and a booklet of “Alexander Hamilton” lyrics and sheet music for piano.

There has been no confirmation if the audio presentation will be uncensored or not. However, press materials showed that it was still rated PG-13 — and the theatrical run was similarly bleeped — so chances are we still don’t get to hear any F-bombs in Dolby Atmos.

Preorder links should be dropping soon at all your favorite physical media retailers. History will have its eyes on June 16. I’m willing to wait for it. One last time.

And yes, I saved all my Hamilpuns till the end.
