NOC Interview: Beatrice Grannò on ‘Daniela Forever’ and Dream Duets with Henry Golding

I got to chat with Beatrice Grannò about Daniela Forever, the new film from writer-director Nacho Vigalondo, starring Henry Golding. Grannò plays the title character Daniela and also sings on the soundtrack by Hidrogenesse, a Catalan electronic pop group. Audiences may remember Grannò as Mia in White Lotus Season 2. Here’s our interview:

NOC Review: ‘Daniela Forever’ is Henry Golding’s Indie Star Turn

What a lovely film is Daniela Forever, the latest effort from Spanish filmmaker Nacho Vigalondo, starring Henry Golding and Beatrice Grannò as the titular character. Vigalondo’s last feature as writer-director was 2016’s Colossal, which found Anne Hathaway clairvoyantly mind-linked to a gigantic city-stomping kaiju monster. Daniela Forever operates from a science-fanciful premise that is slightly less strange, but more gracefully executed:

Director and Stars Say ‘The Old Guard 2’ is About Coming to Terms with Mortality

What would you do if you found out you could not die? You’d live your life doing all the craziest things because there’s no fear or risk, but, as shown in Netflix’s The Old Guard films, including the sequel – The Old Guard 2, you begin to lose your purpose… and possibly, your empathy for society.

Henry Golding Lucid Dreams of Lost Love in ‘Daniela Forever’ Trailer

Spanish filmmaker Nacho Vigalondo gave us Anne Hathaway psychically linked to a giant kaiju monster in 2016’s Colossal, and that was good fun. His new film Daniela Forever features a grieving Henry Golding using a science-fictional sleep therapy following the death of his girlfriend Daniela. His lucid dreaming may bring him back into contact with her, or is it a simulation?

Henry Golding on Joining ‘The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is currently blasting its way through cinemas right now. And part of the reason why this one is such a great time is because of the wonderful ensemble. Now you can’t be an ungentlemanly ministry without an expert demolitionist. Thankfully, this ministry has the perfect man for the job! Playing Freddy Alvarez is the ever-charming Henry Golding! We were able to sit down with the dashing ungentlemanly gentleman recently to talk about Guy Ritchie’s latest!

NOC Review: ‘The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’ is a (Subdued) Blast

Guy Ritchie is arguably one of the most stylish directors in Hollywood. Notable for his slow motion shots, and quick cuts, the director behind Snatch and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels has developed several trademarks throughout his notable career that really establish his unique brand. This is something incredibly evident in his Sherlock Holmes films and even Aladdin. So I was expecting more of the same (in a good way) from The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. However to my even more pleasant surprise, I found a more mature, subdued Ritchie within the fun and wit of this enjoyable war romp.

‘Snake Eyes’ Rolls High With Experimental Take on Classic Character’s Origin

I couldn’t tell you much about the G.I. Joe universe. I know the pamphlet description: a group of U.S. anti-terrorists militants devoted to truth, justice, and never skipping leg day. I know that there are not one, but two live-action movies that I remember seeing, but couldn’t recite either premise even under pressure. And now, I know that whatever those other movies were doing, they were definitely focusing on the wrong Joe.
