NOC Review: ‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish’ is the Best ‘Shrek’ Movie in Years

Yes, it’s true that Dreamworks Animation has had to live in the shadow of Pixar Animation studios for some time. But I truly think audiences tend to underestimate them. The first two Shrek movies are terrific. The entire How to Train Your Dragon trilogy is a masterpiece (one of the few film trilogies ever where all entries are fantastic). And even the Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar franchises are well done. It seems the impact great filmmakers like Guillermo Del Toro and Chris Sanders & Dean DeBlois has indeed (much like the fearless feline protagonist of the film this review is for) left an indelible mark. Because case in point, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is surprisingly quite good.

Remembering the Rescue Rangers: A Brief History of ‘Chip ‘n Dale’

Disney+’s ‘Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers’ Live-Action Film Given the SNL Treatment

Today, Disney+ released the first trailer and new poster of their original movie Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers and it’s a lot.

After 30 years of not having any new Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers content, the hybrid live-action/CG animated action-comedy catches up with the two former Disney Afternoon television stars in modern-day Los Angeles.

Watch the Official Trailer for ‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish’

After first appearing in Shrek 2, Puss in Boots is returning for another adventure! Antonio Banderas will once again voice the character and this time be joined by Salma Hayek, Olivia Colman, Harvey Guillén, Samson Kayo, Wagner Moura, Anthony Mendez, John Mulaney, Florence Pugh, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Ray Winstone. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish will be released in theaters on September 23.

‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One)’ Clip Sends Twitter Into a Frenzy

“PART ONE?!” is essentially what social media exclaimed into the ether when the official Twitter page for Into the Spider-Verse (which has since changed its username and banner) dropped a surprise clip for the upcoming sequel film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The animation opens with the same ending sequence from the 2018 Oscar-winning masterpiece, with an older looking Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) catching up after some time apart.
