A Talk With ‘Midnight Mass’ Star Crystal Balint, Crockett Island’s First Lady

Mysterious new pastors, a series of disappearances, apocalyptic signs of biblical scale; what’s a loving mother, and wife of a cursed town’s mayor supposed to do? I sat down with Crystal Balint in the virtual sense to find the answer.

Mike Flanagan’s ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ Could Be a Major Formula Shift

Mike Flanagan’s name might sound too new to add to the list of legendary horror writers. He’s been developing some truly horrific ideas for over two decades now, finding success in suspenseful thrillers like Hush and Oculus, or in multi-layered horror dramas like The Haunting Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, or Midnight Mass. Yet there are undoubtedly some who would still hesitate to put his name next to the likes of Stephen King, Bram Stoker, or Mary Shelley.

Chilling Trailer for ‘Midnight Mass’ Asks You “Why?”

Mike Flanagan may not be a household name right now. But he’s definitely my favorite name in horror today. Whether you know his name or not, you should know, he doesn’t miss. NOC Review: ‘Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep’ Shines Bright!

Stanley Kubrick’s adaptation of The Shining is largely seen as one of the greatest horror films ever put to screen. It’s also definitely my second favorite horror film of all time. So as a fan, I firmly believe, by and large, that as a property I hold in such high regard, it should not be franchised, sequel-ized, rebooted, or remade in any way, shape, or form… unless talented filmmaker, Mike Flanagan (Gerald’s GameHaunting of Hill House) is doing it (or to a lesser degree, Spielberg is paying homage to it)!

Final ‘Doctor Sleep’ Poster Pays Homage to Danny’s Childhood

In the final poster for Stephen King’s sequel to The Shining, Doctor Sleep, Danny Torrance (Ewan McGregor) is confronted by his younger self.

The previous poster released paid homage to The Shining’s theatrical posters with the face cutout and vibrant yellow background. In this moody red scheme, which kind of reminds me of the river of blood scene, Danny returns to the Outlook Hotel ready to face his demons.

We’ll find out soon next month.

Doctor Sleep opens in theaters on November 8.

Return to The Overlook Hotel in the New Trailer for ‘Doctor Sleep’

Earlier this week, Warner Bros. dropped the trailer for Mike Flanagan’s (Haunting of Hill House, Gerald’s Game) adaptation of Stephen King’s sequel to The ShiningDoctor Sleep!

The vibe looks creepy and Ewan McGregor looks great as a now-adult Danny Torrance. If the movie is up to the standard of all of Flanagan’s other works, I think WB’s looking at a winner. Check out the trailer here:
