As I write this, reports have recently come in that our pal, Gabriel Iglesias, is currently recovering from COVID, so before we get into it, we want to wish him a very rapid recovery and all of our best wishes.

Today also marks the debut of Eric Bauza and Iglesias’ new film, Space Jam: A New Legacy! And to celebrate the return of the Tune Squad, we, at The Nerds of Color, were lucky enough to speak with Bauza and Iglesias about their roles in the new movie. Before we begin, here’s a bit about them.

Christopher Judge to Voice T’Challa in ‘Marvel’s Avengers’

Since the passing of legend, icon, and super hero Chadwick Boseman last year, the idea of passing the mantle of the Black Panther off to anyone else has been met with understandable apprehension. The entertainment, comic book, and pop culture world was stunned by the news of Chadwick’s passing last year after learning about his personal battle with colon cancer and countless roles and activities he committed to while battling his illness.

Noveen Crumbie and Adriana Colón on Arkane Studios’ New Game ‘Redfall’

With the reveal of incredible new indie titles, new and upcoming downloadable content, and major blockbuster games dropping on Game Pass the day of their release, this summer’s E3 gave gamers a lot to appreciate following a year and a half of some of the industry’s most challenging times. For me and thousands of other gamer nerds, the standout for the summer was the reveal of Arkane Studios’ new open-world co-op FPS Redfall.

Ming-Na Wen on Exploring Fennec Shand in ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’

The latest Star Wars animated series, The Bad Batch, finds the galaxy at a turning point. The Clone Wars just ended and the Empire is quickly rising to power. Clone Force 99, a squad of elite clone troopers with genetic mutations, along with a young female clone named Omega, must navigate this rapidly changing galaxy. Along the way, they are quick to learn that to play it low might be the most difficult task, when they have the likes of Fennec Shand after Omega.

NOC Interview: Sean Giambrone on Everyone’s Favorite Comedy, ‘The Goldbergs’

The ABC sitcom stars Sean Giambrone as Adam F. Goldberg, which is currently on season 8 with new episodes airing Wednesdays at 8 PM ET. Throughout the series, we see Adam use his video camera to document his family and their lives. What makes this so unique is at the very end of each episode, viewers get to see real footage of the actual Goldberg family, many of the videos or photos being what was just seen in the episode.

Baron Vaughn Talks ‘Wild Life,’ 2020, and ‘Tales from the Hood’

Baron Vaughn graduated from Boston University’s theatre program and immediately went on to the Williamstown Theatre Festival. That same year he was cast in Drowning Crow with Alfre Woodard on Broadway. He was also featured in Damn Yankees at the NY City Center with Jane Krakowski and Sean Hayes. His television/film credits include Grace and Frankie, Girls, Superstore, Arrested Development, Cloverfield, and Black Dynamite. He is also the voice of Tom Servo on Mystery Science Theatre 3000 for Netflix.
