Sung Kang’s Werewolf Comedy ‘Shaky Shivers’ Exclusively in Theaters September 21

From director Sung Kang (star of Fast X), after finding herself bitten by a mysterious animal, Lucy (played by Brooke Markham) becomes convinced that she will transform into a fearsome werewolf. Joined by her best friend Karen (played by VyVy Nguyen), the two embark on a campy adventure filled with magic and mayhem, as they look to do battle with a throat-slashing creature ripped right out of an ’80s horror movie.

NOC Review: ‘Werewolf by Night’ is a Bloody, Brilliant Good Time

We’ve talked at length about how Phase 4 is the most controversial of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And while I’ve been perfectly satisfied with it, not everything has worked for everyone, even many of the entries I’ll proudly defend. But for the most part, if there’s one thing you simply cannot deny about this phase, it’s how ambitious it’s been; both in the risks Marvel Studios has taken, and the creative liberties it has given its directors. Case in point, the latest risk the studio has to offer, the terrific Werewolf by Night!

NOC Recaps Penny Dreadful: Attack of the Naked Witch Groupies

This will be the very first NOC recap for the Showtime horror show Penny Dreadful, which just premiered its second season on Sunday. And what a relief it is to have it back as I very much miss this delightfully dark show with freaks and ghouls that have a penchant for murder. For those who are just catching on, season one focused mostly on revealing dark secrets for the main cast, which includes Vanessa Ives (Eva Green), Sir Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton), Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadyway), his creation Caliban aka The Creature (Rory Kinnear), and Ethan Chandler (Josh Harnett) whose big secret was that he’s a hairy rampaging werewolf.
