Jordan Fisher on ‘The Flash’ and Waving Through the Speed Force

When you’re running through the Speed Force, and there’s nobody around, do you ever really crash or even make a sound?

That’s one of the questions I didn’t ask the Dear Evan Hansen star Jordan Fisher when he sat down with me over Zoom to talk about his heavily hyped debut as Impulse on The Flash.

What we did talk about in his second appearance on The Nerds of Color YouTube channel, however, was what it meant for Fisher to finally don a superhero costume and join Team Flash for its landmark 150th episode.

Of course, I couldn’t help but point out that his casting checked off two things I’ve discussed for years here. Namely, the Arrowverse’s penchant for casting Broadway talent as superheroes and my wish for Hamilton stars to join the DC Universe.

Speaking of Broadway, we also talk about Jordan’s excitement to get back on stage when he resumes the lead role in Dear Evan Hansen this fall, as well as the possibility of video evidence of Jordan and Grant Gustin singing and dancing on the set. Speaking of Grant and Dear Evan Hansen, if you’ve never seen this video of him and Darren Criss (and DEH original cast member Will Roland’s rendition of “Sincerely Me,” well, here you go).

You’re Welcome.

Anyway, the full video of my conversation with Jordan premieres today — and don’t forget to subscribe and like our channel!
