In just one week, Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings is set to premiere in theaters everywhere. As the first Asian-led Marvel film, with a predominantly Asian cast, Shang-Chi is about to get its very own #GoldOpen. 

Gold Open — a movement led by Gold House, in partnership with the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) to increase box office success for multicultural films starring Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders — is teaming up with GoFundMe to launch their first theatre-exclusive Gold Open since the start of the pandemic for Marvel’s Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings. 

Gold House wants to help deliver a successful opening weekend and engage with as many passionate fans as possible by kicking off the Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings Gold Open Community Fund. The purpose of the Fund will be to buy out theaters in order to allow under-served API youths the opportunity to see the film and feel represented. 

To kickstart the event, Gold House and CAPE hosted a #GoldOpen premiere in Los Angeles this past Monday for several community members and influencers to further solidify the film’s resonance and spread the word about the Fund. New York will also be hosting their own #GoldOpen Premiere next week. 

Gold House is also joining forces with the cast and creatives of the film to amplify select Asian-owned restaurants in Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco. Be sure to check out the following restaurants:
