Calling All Narlie Shippers — Check Out ‘Heartstopper: The Official Podcast’

It’s Joe Locke and Kit Connor’s world, and we’re all just living in it! In celebration of Heartstopper’s upcoming third season (which premieres October 3 on Netflix) the lads have teamed up for Heartstopper: The Official Podcast.

The new four-part series, which is hosted by Tia Kofi of Netflix HQ, goes behind the scenes with the stars of the hit YA show and promises “juicy secrets, loads of laughs, and ALL the feels.”

Based on the bestselling graphic novels by Alice Oseman, Heartstopper centers on the unlikely love story between shy, openly gay Charlie Spring (Locke) and popular rugby player Nick Nelson (Connor). The third season is expected to tackle more mature subjects, including sex, university applications, and mental illness.

In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Connor opened up about filming more intimate scenes with Locke this season. “We’ve been taking baby steps,” he said. “Season one, [the intimacy coordinator] would be there making sure that we were comfortable holding hands. And now we’re doing the sex scenes. We shot a lot of footage for them. Not much actually ended up in the show. But we shot the sex scenes for about seven hours!”

Nevertheless, Locke — who will also star in Marvel’s Agatha All Along, premiering September 18 — reassures fans that Heartstopper will still be Heartstopper. “It’s definitely a more grown-up season,” he said in an interview with Deadline in May. “We deal with darker issues; Charlie’s mental health is a big focus. And it’s still Heartstopper, so there’s always the light at the end of the tunnel, which is a really great way of dealing with issues like that.”

The first episode of Heartstopper: The Official Podcast is available now to watch on YouTube or listen to on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other platforms. New episodes drop on Mondays. Check out Episode 1 below:
