Keith, Dominic, and Britney are back to talk about more cancellations of The CW’s DC content. They then shift to Marvel and discuss all of the forthcoming Disney+ content — including the She-Hulk trailer — before breaking down the recent Vanity Fair cover story on Obi-Wan Kenobi and the future of Star Wars.
With shows like Stargirl and now Naomi, The CW is leaning into younger teams, making more “Scooby Gangs,” as it were, for our main heroes and for their audiences to relate with. Nathan, played by Daniel Puig, is one such Scooby member on Naomi, and also happens to be our protagonist’s current love interest.

Naomi McDuffie (Kaci Walfall) is a normal Oregonian 16-year-old who has a fascination with superheroes, particularly her favorite, Superman. So much so that she has a whole Superman fan website (we can relate to something like that here at The Nerds of Color). A key reason she relates to him is the fact that they’re both adoptees. However, in her new story starting in her titular series Naomi, she finds she may have more in common with the legendary figure than she ever expected.

Ava DuVernay’s work continues to put forward necessary conversations about identity, community, and society, and her newest unscripted series, coming to NBC in October, will again show off her creative genius. Home Sweet Home is equal parts social experiment and cultural exploration, as 18 different families from various backgrounds accept the challenge of exploring a world unlike their own. The series from the Emmy winning and Academy Award-nominated creator will follow two families in each episode who trade spaces to experience life outside their own home.
