With Paramount Pictures’ Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins introducing the world to the ninja behind the mask of the beloved G.I. Joe character, it made sense for Paramount Pictures to work with Asian artists to create one-of-a-kind works of arts to celebrate the film. New York-based, Japanese artist DRAGON 76 released a special limited edition Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins character poster for this week’s ComplexLand, which takes place virtually from June 16-18.

Snake Eyes, played by the handsome Henry Golding, is introduced as an Asian man changing the narrative for the character and fixing the wrongs of the franchise and has the film set in Japan. Snake Eyes is a tenacious loner who is welcomed into an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage after saving the life of their heir apparent. Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach Snake Eyes the ways of the ninja warrior.

DRAGON 76, who was born in Shiga and based in Yokohama, is the perfect artist to create art for the film. His signature style is a fusion of Graffiti, Manga, and Ukiyo-e. His work touches the soul, reflecting on “the coexistence” of opposites such as past and future, stillness, and motion, evil and justice.

The poster put the spotlight on Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, Andrew Koji as Storm Shadow, Úrsula Corberó as The Baroness, Samara Weaving as Scarlett, Haruka Abe as Akiko, Tahehiro Hira as Kenta, Iko Uwais as Hard Master, and Peter Mensah as Blind Master. Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins premieres in theaters on July 23.
