This week, Abigail, the latest from Radio Silence, the duo behind Ready or Not, and Scream V and VI, will be hitting theaters. And I’m going to tell you this straight up: this is currently one of my favorite movies of the year, if not my favorite! Part of that is because of the amazing ensemble, led by a veritable who’s who of horror veterans and their terrific performances, including, Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, and Kathryn Newton. And we were given the extraordinary opportunity to sit down with Stevens and Newton in-person to discuss the project and the buckets of blood they swam through to bring the best horror film this year to life.
Neither Stevens, nor Newton are strangers to horror. Stevens has been in films like Apostle, The Guest, The Rental, and Vamps, with another one, Cuckoo coming later this year. And naturally, Newton has become a complete horror icon, in films like Freaky, and the wonderful Lisa Frankenstein, which we loved earlier this year. So for them to lend their talents to a new film from Radio Silence, perhaps the best filmmaking duo in horror today, meant we were in for a match made in blood-soaked heaven!
Take a look at what they both had to say about horror and about Abigail right here:
Abigail hits theaters this Friday, April 19! If you’re a fan of terrific horror comedy, you definitely don’t want to miss this one.
