‘The Fantastic Four’ Welcomes Paul Walter Hauser

This cast just keeps getting more “fantastic!” While a lot is still being kept under lock and key by penalty of Marvel Studios prison, we know that the cast and crew of 2025’s The Fantastic Four is absolutely coming together.

A few weeks ago, Julia Garner was cast as The Silver Surfer. And prior to that, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach were announced as the eponymous quartet. Now news has broken that Paul Walter Hauser (I, Tonya, Cruella, Orion and the Dark) has officially joined the ever expanding cast as well!

The news was broken by The Hollywood Reporter earlier today. The publication confirmed Hauser has officially been cast, but the role he is inhabiting has not been announced. My personal suspicions are that he’ll likely be the voice of the Fantastic Four’s loyal robot H.E.R.B.I.E, who was in fact seen in the Valentine’s Day announcement from earlier this year (see below).

Hauser is a terrific actor, absolutely proving his talent and range in roles for films like Richard Jewell, and BlacKkKlansman, and tv dramas like Black Bird, for which he won an Emmy. He can do comedy and drama exceedingly well, and I think he’d make a perfect addition to the cast, regardless of what role he’s playing.

As we get closer to San Diego Comic Con, D23, and the release of Deadpool and Wolverine, Marvel Studios will likely be rolling out more news about Hauser’s casting, and a lot more about The Fantastic Four in the coming months. As always, stay tuned to The Nerds of Color for all the latest news about The Fantastic Four.

The Fantastic Four hits theaters July 25, 2025!
