Tonight’s the night folks! The Franchise, the latest comedy series from John Brown (Succession), Armando Iannucci (Veep) and Sam Mendes (Skyfall, 1917) is premiering on HBO at 10pm! And we were able to sit down with all of the ensemble of the acclaimed new comedy series, starting with stars Aya Cash, Himesh Patel, and Billy Magnussen!
The Franchise is a satirical comedy series centering on the chaos surrounding the production of a franchise superhero film! The show is intended to parody the current climate of cinematic universe building, such as what goes on at Marvel and DC Studios. We are pleased to say we will be rolling out interviews with the talented and hilarious ensemble for the next couple of weeks!
First up are series stars Cash (You’re The Worst), Patel (Yesterday, Tenet), and Magnussen (Into the Woods, Aladdin). Cash plays Anita, producer of a fictional studio tentpole superhero film, Tecto: Eye of the Storm. Patel plays the film’s First Assistant Director, Daniel, while Magnussen plays the “Chris”-esque star of the film, Adam. Take a look at what they had to say about the show right here:
The Franchise debuts on HBO tonight, at 10pm! Check out our coverage from the premiere of the show right here. And stay tuned to The Nerds of Color for more amazing interviews with the incredible cast in the coming weeks!
