Happy Disney+ Day everyone! Now I know there’s been a TON of fun news dropped today (I mean who else is excited for Sneakerella, amiright? Anyone? Okay.) But amid all the dozens of announcements the streaming platform has made today, I think it’s safe to say the ones that were the most anticipated were the Marvel Studios announcements that were made.
On a new episode of Hard NOC Life, Keith, Britney, and Dominicwelcome action designers Chris Cowan and Yung Lee to talk about their work on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings! The crew also break down the latest What If and the anime-inspired Star Wars: Visions!
Keith, Britney, and Dominicrant about who won — but more importantly, who didn’t — during the Emmy Awards last night. Then, they break down the new Hawkeye trailer and recap the latest episode of What If.
Keith, Britney, and Dominicare back on Hard NOC Life to break down the new trailer for The Matrix Resurrections and tumble down the rabbit hole of Marvel movie speculation. They also give their thoughts on the latest episode of What If and the merits of Marvel Zombies.
Now that it’s breaking box office records, Keith, Britney, and Dominicare joined by HK cinema and martial arts movie expert Raymond Chow to break down Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on a new episode of Hard NOC Life.
Like nearly all viewers tuning in to this week’s episode of Disney’s animated reimagining What If…?, I was excited, anxious, and sad about seeing and hearing Chadwick Boseman on screen in his last project. The second episode, directed by Bryan Andrews and written by Matthew Chauncey, was a bittersweet exploration of a possible reality where T’Challa takes the role of Star-Lord instead of its original figure Peter Quill. While heartwarming and hilarious, the episode felt like a rush through a journey that could have potentially been explored further but was unfortunately cut short.
Keith rejoins Britney and Dominicto share final thoughts on The Suicide Squad, revisit Cathy Yan’s contributions to the DC canon, break down the whole Shang-Chi experiment “controversy,” and review the first episode of Disney+’s What If.
I’m going to do something a bit different for this one. You see, unlike the past three MCU shows we’ve been treated to (wow, I can’t believe we live in a world where I get to say something like that that!), What If takes more of an anthology approach ala Black Mirror and TwilightZone. And that, essentially, was the spirit of the original comic book series.
Get ready to enter the multiverse with Marvel Studios’ first-ever animated series! What If…? will launch on Disney+ on Wednesday, August 11. New episodes will then continue to premiere Wednesdays on the streaming platform. The upcoming show, directed by Bryan Andrews with AC Bradley as head writer, will reimage famous events from the Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
