Joker’s on You! Will ‘Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’ Survive Its Own Expansion?

Rocksteady Studios maintains ambitious expansion plans for their embattled live-service game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (or SSKTJL, if you’re into the whole brevity thing). The creators of the standard-setting Batman: Arkham Asylum games plan to release at least 12 “seasons” featuring new playable characters, redesigned environs (“Elseworlds”) and alternate Brainiac bosses in the coming months. Recently they unveiled Season 1, featuring that evergreen Batman nemesis, the Joker.

From FanExpo to WonderCon: A Retrospective of Promoting ‘Dasig’ in the Convention Circuit

I recently came back from my first time at WonderCon. Surrounded by the stimuli of elaborate cosplayers, autograph opportunities, panels, and exhibitors, it’s a sight that’s become particularly familiar for me in recent months. You see, it was my third convention I was present for in the past four months; the others being LA Comic Con and FanExpo San Francisco. I’ve been present at these conventions not as an attendee, but as an exhibitor.

by Tony B. Kim | Originally posted at Hero Within

On Monday morning we released our summer collection that included our new Wonder Woman Denim Jacket. Out of everything new we are creating this year, this is the one piece I am most excited for. Wonder Woman is FINALLY getting her own live action film after almost 40 years since Linda Carter’s iconic TV version. Fortunately, in the past few years, we have seen more social advocating for equal representation of gender, orientation, and race in our favorite comics, TV, and films. Much has changed. Much has not.

Coming Soon: MaeJay and the Mech

Close to a decade ago, I met a Blaxican artist at Dr. Comics and Mr. Games in Oakland, CA. We had mutual geek interests, as well as an undying love and connection to hip-hop culture — the vibe was pure fiyah. He was already a parent, and I was about to be one. We became friends. He’s a visual artist, toy maker, animator, and filmmaker. I’m a writer, marketing guy, pop culture scholar, and performer. Match made in geek heaven. We bandied about ideas on how best we could work together, but nothing really panned out. Then, something happened. I don’t know what his catalyzing agent was, but mine was WonderCon.
