Are you ready to take the next leap forward? Quantum Leap was a terrifically fun sci-fi show on NBC that ran from 1989 to 1993. It chronicled the journey of Dr. Sam Beckett, a man stuck in time after an experiment gone home, who would “leap” all over the annals of history solving problems, and hoping that his next leap would bring him home to the present.
Sam’s only companion was a sentient A.I. hologram that would named Al who would help him through his travels. It was a blast, and became an instant cult classic. Which is why it was only fitting NBC continue the story in a new revival of the classic series!
However, while the original series was famously led by Scott Bakula, we have a fellow POC anchoring this continuation, in the form of Raymond Lee (Kevin Can F**k Himself) who is playing a new character, Dr. Ben Seong. Ben will be repeating the experiment Sam Beckett began and hopefully, this time, find a solution and maybe even possibly finding a way to bring Sam home.
We had the opportunity to chat with Lee about the project, and we can’t wait for you to hear about what he had to say about the “Leap” experiment and living up to the legacy of the original series. Take a look here:
You can catch Lee and the adventures of his character, Ben Seong when Quantum Leap returns to NBC, this Monday, September 19!
