Taking the Leap with ‘Quantum Leap’ Star Raymond Lee

Are you ready to take the next leap forward? Quantum Leap was a terrifically fun sci-fi show on NBC that ran from 1989 to 1993. It chronicled the journey of Dr. Sam Beckett, a man stuck in time after an experiment gone home, who would “leap” all over the annals of history solving problems, and hoping that his next leap would bring him home to the present.

Oh, Boy: NBC Picks Up ‘Quantum Leap’ Reboot to Series

NBC has announced that it is committing its reboot of Quantum Leap to series after announcing the casting of the pilot in March. Such a quick turnaround can only mean that the network heads were blown away by the pilot. And for what it’s worth, this show sounds tailor-made for me and me alone.

NOC Review: ‘Scream’ is a Worthy Return to Woodsboro

Radio Silence (Ready or Not) delivers an earnest homage to Wes Craven with Scream while reinventing its meta core for a new generation. The story from writers James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick reconnects the past with the present seamlessly, creating real reasons for the legacy cast members to return to shepherd a new core group of friends living a requel of the Woodsboro tragedy. Yes, a requel (reboot+sequel) which the film pokes fun at itself with true to the franchise’s signature smarts and proving that it’s smarter than ever.

‘Home Sweet Home Alone’ Has a Moral Compass and a Happy New Year

The holiday season is underway yet again. As some of us prepare to celebrate with our loved ones, let’s keep in mind the folks who may be spending this season apart. Hopefully none of us are getting into any ridiculous, mischievous, or downright zany shenanigans that might earn you a mark inside the old “Maybe” box on the naughty/nice list. If that’s the case, at least there are now six movies that explain in cartoonish detail what to do if you find yourself riding the sleigh solo during a ho-ho-home invasion.

‘Ocean’s 8’ is an Exercise in Expectation vs. Reality

In the past few years, reboots have become as ubiquitous as Marvel sequels. It feels like every week a new reboot gets announced. On TV, there’s Will and Grace, Fuller House, and the now-cancelled Roseanne. In film, there’s been 21 Jump Street, The Mummy, yet another Spider-Man reboot and of course, Ghostbusters. It’s hard not to compare Ocean’s 8 to the plethora of reboots that have come down the pipeline. But I can safely say that Ocean’s 8 is exactly what it needs to be. It’s fun, campy, silly, and suave. Every actress was perfect and absolute in the roles. And in so many ways, it checked all the boxes of a good heist film: good tricks, intricate plans, and unexpected plot twists.
