The Cast of ‘iCarly’ Discuss Adding to the Beloved Show’s Legacy

In honor of iCarly’s return, I had the opportunity to reunite with stars Miranda Cosgrove, Nathan Kress, Jerry Trainor, Laci Mosley, and Jaidyn Triplett to talk about the series! Based on the original hit sitcom, the revival follows Carly Shay, the original influencer, and her friends as they navigate work, love, and their family in their 20s. The first two episodes of season two are now streaming! New episodes will continue to drop weekly on Paramount+.

The 10-episode second season of Paramount+’s iCARLY picks up right after the first season ended, with Carly refocusing her attention on her friends and family following her romantic complications, all while working to boost her revived web channel. Spencer and Harper must also navigate new personal and career developments, while Freddie balances raising Millicent with a new app and a new girlfriend.

Miranda Cosgrove, whose first starring role was in School of Rock, portrays Carly Shay and serves as an executive producer. The actress and singer can currently be seen hosting and executive producing CBS Saturday Morning’s Mission Unstoppable as well as in the feature films North Hollywood and 3022. She has also lent her voice to the character of Margo in the Despicable Me franchise.

Nathan Kress reprises his role as Freddie Benson. He is also both a producer and director for the series. Other work includes Into the Storm, Breaking Brooklyn, Without a Trace, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Hawaii Five-0, House M.D., and Major Crimes. He has lent his voice to characters in Pinky Malinky and Star Wars Rebels as well. The actor made his directorial debut with multiple episodes of Nickelodeon’s Henry Danger and Game Shakers. Currently, Kress can also be heard co-hosting the podcast RadioActive Dads

Jerry Trainor continues to make us all laugh as Spencer Shay while also taking on the role of producer for iCarly. The actor and comedian’s additional work includes Cover Versions, Still the King, and No Good Nick.

Laci Mosley brings the character of Harper to life. The actress, comedian, writer, and singer can be seen starring in season two of HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show. Her additional credits include Florida Girls and The Wedding Year. She is also the creator and host of the popular true crime comedy podcast Scam Goddess.

Jaidyn Triplett plays Millicent. She can most recently be seen starring in Apple TV+’s See. Additional roles include Station 19, The Affair, Family Reunion, Major Deal, and A Stone Cold Christmas.
