The new Forza Horizon 6 game just released for Xbox on May 19. The Nerds of Color had the opportunity to speak with Twitch Partner Nixstah, Toyota’s Kalifa Sprowl, and Intertrend’s Alyssa Hu about bringing this game and weekend pop-up experience to fans across different cultures.
Fans of the popular driving game Forza Horizon are in for a treat with the latest release. Forza Horizon 6 features stunning environments, and open world racing format, and a wide selection of vehicles that gamers can select from. When it comes to this particular release, gamers will find the Toyota Land Cruiser as one of the featured cars available to interact with. To celebrate, Toyota developed the “Lost & Found: The Challenge” Toyota’s Forza Barn Finds Pop-Up at the Westfield Century City mall in Los Angeles, where guests were able to solve clues, win exclusive prizes, and enter for the chance to win a digital download of the game and a Microsoft Xbox Series X console.

One thing that’s held true about the gaming community is that it’s a great equalizer across cultures. Individuals from all over the world have the ability to play their favorite games, meet people who they may otherwise never get a chance to play against, and experience their particular fandoms in an environment that relies predominantly on skill. With this relatively level playing field, it’s become clear over the years that marketing games to players of all backgrounds proves successful more often than not.
In addition to entering the barn pop-up to solve some clues, I was able to play a round of Forza Horizon 6. The gameplay environment is truly stunning, with landscapes that take you across Japan, into the Alps, and more. We had the opportunity to speak with Kalifa Sprowl (Sr. Series Planner, Vehicle Marketing and Communities at Toyota Motors North America), Alyssa Hu (Consumer Engagement & Multicultural Marketing Expert from Intertrend Communication, ‘Lost & Found’ Experience Designer), and Nixstah (Twitch Partner and Gamer) about how their respective experiences shaped bringing this activation to life and what they hope to see in the future of the gaming community.
