When it comes to my passion for action figure collecting, you’d think Mezco’s One:12 Collective line would be a no-branier. It takes the intricate detail and soft goods stitching found on 12-inch Hot Toys figures and shrinks them down to my preferred scale, without losing any of the craftsmanship. But by and large, I missed the One:12 boat, focusing more on Marvel Legends, Star Wars Black Series, and the occasional S.H. Figuarts figure. And while I pre-ordered both Batman and Superman from, well, Batman v Superman, I never took them out of their (admittedly gorgeous) packaging. Well, Mezco’s just-released Superman from the 1978 film has changed all that.Continue reading “Mezco’s One:12 Collective Superman is Out of This World”

At long last, 6-inch scale G.I. Joe action figures have arrived. Well, at least one of them. This week, Hasbro Pulse began shipping began shipping its exclusive Deluxe Snake Eyes figure from the upcoming G.I. Joe Classified Series line. I’ve had it open for less than a day and I can already say it’s the best action figure of 2020 (and maybe of all time).
Ever since The Child made its debut on Disney+ in November, fans have been clamoring for ways to get their hands on some Baby Yoda merch. Well, the wait is finally over. Disney will be unveiling its 2020 roster of Star Wars-branded action figures, plush toys, board games, and more at Toy Fair in New York this weekend. And even though the Skywalker Saga is no more, the Force will be strong with merch based on shows like The Mandalorian and Clone Wars.
A few months back, I took some time to reflect on Mattel’s final wave of Batman-related action figures. After nearly two decades in the DC Comics licensing game, Mattel finally gave way to a new licensee. McFarlane Toys (and Spin Masters) were going to be the new holders of the DC legacy though little was known about what either toy company would offer. All we knew was that the figures would debut some time in 2020. Well, it’s a new year, and all that has changed!
Even though The Good Place is by far one of the best shows on TV, there is not a lot of official merch available for the series. Fortunately, Funko is rectifying that situation by unveiling a series of Pop! Vinyl figures featuring everyone’s favorite Soul Squad. The show may be ending, but it can now live on forever on your display shelves for all of Jeremy Bearimy.
Take a look at each Pop! below and pre-order from Entertainment Earth now for delivery in June 2020.
When it was announced late last year that Mattel would be losing the master license to make DC Comics-related action figures, I wasn’t sure how to react. On the one hand, I had pretty much stopped buying Mattel’s offerings when they ended their DC Universe Classics line around 2012. On the other, I’ve been an avid collector of these figures ever since popular action figure sculptors the Four Horsemen gave us Zipline Batman in 2003. Of course, in the years since, I moved on — preferring more premium toymakers like SH Figuarts for my DC fix. But I couldn’t help coming back to Mattel one last time for an all-Batman wave to close out their 16-year run on the character.
It looks like Lin-Manuel Miranda won’t be the only one making his San Diego Comic-Con debut this year!
Entertainment Earth has revealed a new In The Heights pin mates wooden collectible item in the form of Miranda’s iconic Broadway character, Usnavi.
