In anticipation for the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard, Keith welcomes his brother Raymond to Hard NOC Life as they countdown their top five episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation!
Hard NOC Life is back! Keith is joined by guest co-host Lauran Lola to break down the 95th Annual Oscar nominees, including the historic showing by Everything Everywhere All at Once, which leads with 11 overall nominations!
Britney and Keith are delaying their hiatus (again) to continue discussing the ongoing drama at Warner Bros. and DC Studios. If last week’s bombshell news of Patty Jenkins walking away from Wonder Woman 3 wasn’t enough; this week, we got confirmation that Henry Cavill will not be continuing as Superman — despite announcing his return barely two months ago. It’s a mess, and Hard NOC Life is here to make sense of it all!
Hard NOC Life will eventually go on hiatus. However, Britney and Keith couldn’t avoid talking about THR’s bombshell report that James Gunn and Peter Safran might be blowing up the current DC Universe after all. Later, Keith is joined by President Obama’s former chief speechwriter, Cody Keenan, about his new White House memoir, Grace: President Obama and Ten Days in the Battle for America.
On the final Hard NOC Life before we go on hiatus, Dominic, Britney, and Keith rank Andor against other live action Star Wars projects, including the Holiday Special from the 1970s. Speaking of Holiday Specials, James Gunn brings the tradition back with a special Guardians of the Galaxy mission to save Christmas.
This week on Hard NOC Life, Britney and Keith remember Jason David Frank and discuss how much grief has preoccupied the nerd spaces with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and the most recent episode of Andor.
This week, Britney returns! They talk about the latest Andor and their anticipation for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. But be sure to stay tuned to the end to hear Dominic and Keith argue about the midterm elections. One thing is clear, though: DON’T VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS.
This week, Britney is still out but Dominic and Keith are here to discuss the fallout from the gigantic news that James Gunn and Peter Safran are the co-heads of the new DC Studios. What does that mean for the Distinguished Competition going forward? Also, they break down the trailers for the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (coincidentally announced the same day as Gunn’s DC takeover), Quantumania, and how to pronounce “Namor.” They also catch up on the latest episodes of Andor.
Southern Fried Asian returns to feature stand-up-comic-turned-young-adult-romance-author, Suzanne Park! She and Keith discuss growing up in the suburbs of Nashville, stumbling into stand-up comedy, writing her newest book, The Christmas Clash — about warring food court restaurants, her mother’s Korean American fried chicken, and more.
This week, Britney and Dominic are out, so Keith brought in his brother Raymond to review Dwayne Johnson’s first foray into superhero films, Black Adam and incorporate as many WWF Attitude-era Rock catchphrases as possible. They also talk about Henry Cavill’s future as Superman… for some reason.
With Britney out this week, it’s up to Keith and Dominic to cover a week even an A.I. Kevin Feige couldn’t predict, such as the fallout from the latest MCU schedule shuffle, as well as She-Hulk lampshading Marvel’s greatest flaws.
This week, Britney, Keith, and Dominic are joined by Friend of the NOC, Catrina Dennis to break down the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer, and marvel at Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal’s ascension up the Disney ranks with Andor and Werewolf By Night, respectively. They also geek out over Daredevil’s appearance in She-Hulk and share what’s nerd poppin’ from Star Trek: Picard to Hocus Pocus 2 and “Super” Black Adam rumors.
This episode was recorded before Marvel dropped the Wakanda Forever trailer so tune in next week for thoughts on that! In the meantime, Britney, Keith, and Dominic weigh in on Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine in Deadpool III, reported trouble on the Blade set, and the latest She-Hulk and Andor episodes.
The three-episode premiere of Andor is finally here, and Britney, Keith, and Dominic have thoughts! They break down everything they love about the latest, and potentially greatest, Star Wars property — including the everyone’s favorite Emo droid –and why it’s nice to finally have a Star War that f*cks. Later, Keith interviews Friend of the NOC Marc Bernardin about his various projects and his 10-year podcasting adventure and friendship with Kevin Smith.
On Southern Fried Asian, fellow NOC fam Patrick Michael Strange is in conversation with Keith about growing up as a military brat across the South! From South Carolina and Mississippi to joining the Navy in Viriginia, Patrick recounts coming to terms with his identity as a Filipino American and as a comic book nerd. They also discuss his own nerd empire and a memorable Comic-Con experience. Finally, Patrick reveals that tocino (and not lumpia or siopao) is his go-to Filipino dish.
Britney, Keith, and Dominic celebrate Batman Day! They also break down the latest She-Hulk and speculate about Daredevil’s forthcoming appearance. Then, Keith explains what a HasLab is and why toy collectors are freaking out about the latest offering.
Britney, Keith, and Dominic go over all of the best announcements from the D23 Expo. They also break down the importance of the Wong and Madisynn relationship on She-Hulk. The discussion goes in many different directions. But not where you think!
With Britney away, Keith and Dominic are left to recap the latest She-Hulk: Attorney at Law before they reveal why high fantasy shows like the prequels for Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones currently streaming are in their pop culture blind spots.
On as special Southern Fried Asian, NOC Managing Editor Laura Sirikul sits down with the cast of HBO Max’s House of Ho just in time for the reality docuseries’ eventful second season following the Houston-based Vietnamese family as they pursue a life of love, laughter, and luxury.
