‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ Trailer Will Blow Us All Away

Paramount Pictures and Hasbro has just dropped the first teaser trailer for next year’s latest installment in the Transformers live action movie franchise, Rise of the Beasts!

While I haven’t always been the biggest fan of Michael Bay’s Transformers films, that all changed with the release of 2018’s Bumblebee. And Beasts looks to be maintaining that movie’s commitment to the original G1 designs for the Autobots and Decepticons. Or is that, Terrorcons? (No word on whether the Sharkticons will show up, too.)

Of course, the film’s subtitle suggests we are entering into the era of Beast Wars, and by all accounts, the designs for Optimus Primal and the other Maximals are similarly faithful.

We only get small glimpses of Hamilton star Anthony Ramos as this film’s human protagonist — who looks to be bonding with an Autobot that looks to be a combination of Mirage and Jazz, I presume? What we do see looks to be more in line with the humor and heart of Bumblebee than the macho bombast of the first five movies.

We’ll all find out for sure when Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is released in theaters on June 9, 2023!
