Happy Holidays! Not only is it Christmastime, but this is also Jamie Noguchi week on Hard NOC Media! Before he guests on a special Rise of Skywalker focused edition of Hard NOC Life, Jamie is also Keith’s guest on this month’s Southern Fried Asian.
It’s not a secret that I wasn’t the biggest fan of this past summer’s giant-robots-punch-giant-monsters-in-the-face flick Pacific Rim. In fact, there was a whole segment of “Hard N.O.C. Life” dedicated to me disagreeing with Jenn about the merits of the movie.
That said, I do realize that I am in the minority in this opinion, at least among the fanboy set. I get that. I ain’t hatin’. Whatever floats your jaeger, right?
One of those fanboys who loved this movie more than me is my friend, artist Jamie Noguchi. It’s probably safe to say Jamie loves this movie more than most — even Guillermo Del Toro. Probably. Jamie feels so strongly about this movie (because SWORD!), he wrote a song about it. Wanna hear it? Hear it go.

On Tuesday, we dropped the first three “variant” album covers for Chops’ latest project Strength in NUMBERS. And Wednesday saw the release of the video for “Keep On,” the lead single from the album and also the long anticipated, fifteen-years-in-the-making return of Chops, Peril-L, and Styles Infinite, a.k.a. the legendary Mountain Brothers.
In the video, you might have noticed a “sis” joining the Bros on the track. That would be the one and only Ann One singing the hook.
You may recall that Chops and I worked with a dozen and a half artists to create individual album covers for each of the emcees, singers, and DJs on the album. And starting with Jamie Noguchi‘s take on Ann One below, the rest of the digital album covers will be available here at The Nerds of Color exclusively.
