Marvel Studios Confirms Full Cast of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

We are only a little over a year until Avengers: Doomsday hits, and fans have been getting anxious about any sort of confirmed announcement about the tentpole, beyond the casting of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, and the Russo Brothers directing. Well today, we finally got something pretty big, as the full confirmed cast was revealed via livestream, ending months of speculation on which MCU A-Listers would be joining the fun!

In a particularly slow burn announcement, much to the annoyance of every short-attention span TikToker on the planet, Marvel Studios started a live video, in which they showcased the chairbacks of the principle cast of Avengers: Doomsday every 10 minutes. The first revealed was Chris Hemsworth. The second was Vanessa Kirby. Then Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. Princess Shuri, the Black Panther — Letitia Wright after that. Everyone’s favorite pint-sized hero, Ant-Man (aka Paul Rudd). Wyatt Russell’s US Agent, John Walker, which was kind of a surprise. As was Tenoch Huerta Mejia, aka Namor (Imperius Rex!), who came after that.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing will be joining the roster. We are getting the best hand-to-hand fighter in the MCU, because Simu Liu’s Shang Chi will also be part of the line up. After that were Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, and Kelsey Grammer, presumably as Beast! We also got Lewis Pullman, reprising his role from Thunderbolts. And of course Danny Ramirez returning as Falcon. Followed by Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Winston Duke — M’Baku! Following that, Hannah John-Kamen is bringing the Ghost back (so if nothing else we know who will be surviving Thunderbolts). Of course a multiverse picture can’t be complete without Loki — God of the Multiverse as of Season 2.

The X-GOAT himself, Patrick Stewart will be joining the fray as Charles Xavier! And holy smokes we’re getting Sir Ian McKellen himself as well, and Alan Cumming is coming back as Nightcrawler! We’re also getting Rebecca Romijn back as Mystique and thankfully James Marsden back as Cyclops (they better give him something great to do unlike the Fox films). Another surprise: Channing Tatum will be coming back as Gambit! Less of a surprise, Pedro Pascal will be joining the rest of his family as Mr. Fantastic.

And last but not least, of course, Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom!

I will say there were some incredible surprises for the event. Especially the X-Men cast members. I mean as a Marvel fanboy since I was a kid, getting to see a movie with The Avengers, The Fantastic Four, and the X-Men was something I never thought I’d ever see, but something I’ve always dreamt about. And we’re finally getting it. Though I wish the reveals weren’t as tedious as Marvel made them.

It’s honestly the very definition of “this could have been an email.”

Still, say what you will, but I am and always will be a Marvel ride-or-die, and I’m incredibly psyched that we are getting this!

Stay tuned to The Nerds of Color for more news coming about Avengers: Doomsday! Hitting theaters May 2026!

  1. Could have been an email? Get bent. This is exciting as hell. That cast is absolutely stacked, a dream come true, and it deserves every moment of build up that it got, ya jaded turd.

    1. Rude and also unnecessary. Also if you read on, you’d notice I LITERALLY said right after “Still, say what you will, but I am and always will be a Marvel ride-or-die, and I’m incredibly psyched that we are getting this!”

So…yeah…learn to read on I guess?
