We got to talk with Camila Rodriguez about her role in Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again, which by the way just dropped its Season 2 finale and that episode is nuts. I mean, good nuts. Like, macadamia nuts. Anyways, here’s our interview with Angela del Toro a.k.a. White Tiger:
Camila talks about the emotional and current-events intensity involved in making Daredevil, as well as specific Puerto Rican cultural elements woven into the show. On a lighter note, she discusses her experiences working with Charlie Cox (Daredevil) and Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), and reveals her current favorite karaoke song, which in my opinion is a really really unusually good one.
But seriously, some of you are not even ready for that Season Two finale. Whatever your current opinion on the Marvel shows are, it’s worth noting that Daredevil is the show that Goes There. Personally, am all for it.
To be honest, Daredevil in all his TV iterations has always ripped my heart out. There are scenes I watch over and over again, as with my favorite scenes in all cinema. Born Again has its flaws, but the S2 finale that came out this week is BRAINMELTING. The episode allegorizes Jan 6 2021 in a deft conclusion to the storyline in which Kingpin is elected mayor of New York City. (The fact that real-life Zohran Mamdani looks a lot like Charlie Cox is bleeding-edge irony.) It’s serious as a heart attack and also a superhero story. (BTW, Marvel comics have always reflected and commented on current world events, as consistently as hiphop, iykyk.) There’s terrible violence in the finale and it’s about the choice to do violence or not. The FUN violence is in episode 3’s “big fight” scene wherein Daredevil and Swordsman rescue Kingpin’s hostages, mauling 20 ICEish agents in the process, impeccable action filmmaking.

It was a real pleasure to talk with the new White Tiger. I could go on and on about her acting, but the point is her character does stuff every disenfranchised person dreams about in the service of doing the right thing, and she makes you believe she’s doing it, and that’s basically what a superhero story is.
Daredevil: Born Again Seasons One and Two are fully binge-able now on Disney+.
