Talking About ‘TRON: Ares’ with Arturo Castro

I loved TRON: Ares! Based on reviews from my fellow colleagues, I’m glad to know I’m not the only one. TRON may be a niche franchise, but I simply can’t get enough of the crazy lightcycle sequences, the insane disc battles, buzzing techno soundtracks, and giant recognizers eclipsing the neon-lit skylines of The Grid! So I’m incredibly thrilled to share a bonus TRON interview with you all: a conversation with the hilarious and charismatic Arturo Castro!

Entering The Grid with the Cast and Director of ‘TRON: Ares’

Fun fact: I’ve actually been obsessed with TRON for a long time. Both the original TRON and TRON: Legacy were films that were ahead of their time, with creator Steven Lisberger and future Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski exploring themes such as the dangers of corporate greed and the abuse of technology and power in both films.

Friday was an epic day at Hall H! Worlds Collide in the New ‘TRON: Ares’ Trailer

Holy crap! This looks amazing! I’ve mentioned before how much of a TRON fan I am. I’ve lamented when I found out we weren’t getting a direct sequel to TRON: Legacy. But after seeing the new trailer for TRON: Ares, any concerns have been completely derezzed!

New Trailer for ‘Tron: Ares’ Showcases Representation on the Grid

I’ve loved the Tron franchise for a long time! To me, this was one of the finest and most underrated franchises to come out of the House of Mouse, with some of the best visuals and concepts put to screen both of and ahead of its times. The gorgeous work from the original Tron to the fantastic sequences in Tron: Legacy still hold up today!

Flynn Lives! Jeff Bridges Officially Back for ‘Tron: Ares’

If you are a Tron fan (And I know there’s a handful of us out there), you’ve probably approached the prospect of a film like Tron: Ares with skepticism. The star of Morbius, the director of Maleficent 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean 5, and a concept that seemed disconnected from the story established in Tron and Tron: Legacy hardly instilled confidence. But now, we just got news that will hopefully change the game for the upcoming sequel for fans all over!

Hasan Minhaj on Pushing the Envelope as ‘The King’s Jester’

On October 4, Hasan Minhaj makes his triumphant return to Netflix with his newest special, The King’s Jester. In advance of the special’s global premiere, I had the chance to sit down with Hasan to ask about his process (and troll him about Kumail Nanjiani and the Sacramento Kings).

D23Expo: ‘Haunted Mansion’ Brings New Scares and Happy Haunts

It’s the D23Expo, so of course we are going to get to see some exclusive new footage from all kinds of films from their animation and live-action slate. While the studio’s film adaptations of their rides have been more or less a mixed bag, director Justin Simeon, who used to work at Disneyland, seems to embrace the true spirit of the Haunted Mansion.

DC’s ‘Batman Unburied’ Finds Its Riddler in Hasan Minhaj

The Batman Unburied podcast has just gotten a little bigger. Previously, it was reported that Winston Duke (Black Panther, Us) would voice Bruce Wayne/Batman, while Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter) would voice his trusted butler/father figure Alfred. The two are headlining the podcast written by David S. Goyer, which promises an original story that tests the limits of Batman’s physical strength as well as his mental capabilities as Gotham City’s greatest protector.
