Girlfriends, Unicorns, and Villains with ‘Shazam!’ Stars Asher Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer

Part of the charm of the first Shazam! film was watching the sweet coming-of-age friendship between foster brothers Billy Batson and Freddie Freeman develop, as they navigated the superhero business together. Portrayed by Asher Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer, the two actors sparked the characters to life with their chemistry and relatable comedic timing. Now, with Shazam! Fury of the Gods coming out, we get to see both the characters and the actors mature further as the adventures of Freddie and Billy, as well as the rest of the Shazam-ily, continue!

Finding the Magic Words with Zachary Levi of ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’

Welcome to Shazam! week folks! Back in 2019, Billy Batson made his glorious film debut with the release of the utterly charming Shazam! The film ended up gaining some of the best reviews in the DCEU, and was a financial success. And a large part of that was due to the terrific performance from star Zachary Levi, who truly embraced the zany Big-meets-DC wish fulfillment concept of the picture.

Sony’s ‘Missing’ Highlights How Society Responds to Missing Black Women

Missing executive producer Sev Ohanian said it’s great seeing this movie with an audience after I told him this would be my first viewing of the film at the special CAPE and Product of Culture screening. And, it was.

From the creative minds of the 2018 critically-acclaimed film Searching, Missing follows the same technological format as its predecessor, filled with unexpected twists and turns that are amplified with audiences’ gasps.

Check Out the New Poster for ‘Shazam: Fury of the Gods’

We are going to have to wait a bit longer to witness the fury of the gods, as Shazam: Fury of the Gods, the sequel to 2019’s delightful Shazam! is due to hit theaters March 17. Originally the highly anticipated follow up was supposed to go toe-to-toe with Avatar: The Way of Water this Christmas, but was pushed in the wake of the WB/Discovery merger and the updated plans for the DC film slate. But never fear, just because we aren’t getting more of the Shazam family this year, doesn’t mean we aren’t getting some fun stuff. Today, WB/DC just debuted a new poster for the film.

Laika Announces Cast for ‘Wildwood’

It’s no exaggeration to say that one of the best names in storytelling today is Laika! I’ve said it before, shouted it to the heavens, and will do so continuously and vigorously until the rest of the world sees it too. Which is why I couldn’t be more excited for their next release, Wildwood!

NOC Review: ‘I Love My Dad’ is Endearingly Funny and Real

Having a falling out with a family member you are close with can be difficult and the same can be said when you fall in love with a person you’ve never met online. Both experiences can leave you with the empty feeling of realizing you don’t really know them as well as you thought. In I Love My Dad, writer-director James Morosini crafts an endearingly funny and real film that displays that feeling honestly and cathartically.

‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Teaser Confirms Release Date and Lady Gaga Casting

It’s been a controversial week for WB and DC. With everything going on with Batgirl, and something of a lackluster showing at Comic-Con, the studio needed to drop some big news. And admittedly news for the sequel to the $1B grossing Joker is big.

‘Joker’ Sequel to be a Musical and Co-Star Lady Gaga

Last week, director Todd Phillips took to Instagram to reveal work has begun on the follow-up to his 2019 Academy Award-winning film, Joker. Without caption, the director simply posted the cover of the screenplay — intriguingly subtitled “Folie à Deux” — and a photo of Joaquin Phoenix reading the script.

Breaking Down ‘The Batman’ Press Event with the Cast and Crew

The light shone brightly on the dimly lit backdrop of the Warner Brothers studio lot during a random night in February. Displayed high above was the familiar shape that represented vengeance and justice: the sleek silhouette of a bat! In a week that was uncharacteristically warm during this time of year, even for Los Angeles, things were about to heat up even more. For shortly, before a limited number of members of the press, The Batman would soon appear!

The New Poster for ‘The Batman’ is Coming in Hot

I actually mean that literally. There’s a lot of fire in this one.

To be honest, I’m not sure what it is with studios giving us some really gorgeous artwork, then slapping together obligatory “disembodied faces” with Photoshop for final posters. The MCU is guilty of it. DC is guilty of it. Star Wars is guilty of it. And it’s not my favorite trend overall.
