Breaking Down the Trailer for ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’

At its core Star Wars has always been about rebels and underdogs standing up to dictators using their own private armies to take over the galaxy. Since its debut in 2019, The Mandalorian strengthened those themes, centering on a ragtag duo of outcasts fighting the good fight against villains still trying their hardest to hold on to authoritarianism. Now the battle continues on the big screen as Din Djarin and Grogu return in The Mandalorian and Grogu!

Amazon MGM Studios just confirmed production is underway on Spaceballs 2, the decades-in-the-making follow-up to Mel Brooks’ 1987 space opera classic. We Have Friends Everywhere

Earlier this week, the Disney-owned broadcast network ABC abruptly pulled the late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live from the airwaves after being pressured by the U.S. government. A few days prior, Dan Gilroy1 and the show Andor, another Disney-owned entity, was being awarded an Emmy for outstanding writing for this powerful speech delivered by Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma — who was totally snubbed in the acting category, by the way — warning of “the monster who will come for us all soon enough.”

‘Andor’ and the Asian Soul Within ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Rogue One’

The final episodes of Andor Season 2 no doubt will lead many to rewatch Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, because Andor adds so much meaning and context to its 2016 predecessor. Rogue One’s story begins a matter of days after Andor S2 concludes. Those in full completist binge mode may then feel compelled to watch Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (a.k.a. The First One), because its story starts about five minutes after the end of Rogue One.

‘Andor’ Stars on Their Season 2 Character Journeys and Telling Stories without Agendas

Of all the untold stories in the Star Wars universe, the theft of the Death Star plans stands out as one of the most compelling. ‘Skeleton Crew’ Soldifies a Wizard Time of Adventure and Mystery

There’s something splendidly meta about seeing kids pretend to have a lightsaber battle, in a galaxy where there actually are Jedi and lightsabers. That’s what came to mind while watching the premiere of the newest Star Wars live-action series, Skeleton Crew, where a group of kids come across an abandoned starship and accidentally launch themselves into space.

‘Skeleton Crew’ Star Ravi Cabot-Conyers on Being a Kid in a ‘Star Wars’ Production

George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, has said that when he made the original trilogy of films, the initial target audience were kids. And yet, in the time since then, not only has that detail seemed to have been lost in the ongoing discourse on the franchise, but rarely has there been Star Wars productions with said demographic as the central characters.

‘Skeleton Crew’ Trailer Brings the ‘80s Vibes in Story and Sound

The official trailer for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is out, and… wait, is that Peter Schilling’s “Major Tom (Coming Home),” I hear? Already it was something to behold to have an artist create a song for the previous live-action series, The Acolyte, with Victoria Monét’s “Power of Two,” but to actually license a song for a trailer for a Star Wars series is very unusual.

‘Star Wars Outlaws’ is More Than IX, Less Than V

Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws occurs between Star Wars Episodes V and VI, which is to say, in the period after Empire Strikes Back and before Return of the Jedi, when Han is in Carbonite, Luke is processing his parentage, Leia is working with an Easy Ubese Phrase Book, and the Empire is generally winning.

‘The Acolyte’ is Exactly What ‘Star Wars’ Needed

Before The Rise of Skywalker at the tail end 2019, I was a big Star Wars fan. The release of the singularly subpar final chapter of the Sequel Trilogy had me distraught about the franchise, severely dampening my fandom. The recidivism of Episode IX had me believe that there was no true moving forward. We would be destined to remain in the strict boundaries of Jedi vs. Sith without a critical examination and growth of what these stories could be.

Amandla Stenberg Discusses Morals, Acting, and Combat Training for ‘The Acolyte’

It’s been a week since the latest Star Wars live-action series, The Acolyte, wrapped up. The first production to be set in the High Republic era follows a Jedi reuniting with his former Padawan, as they investigate a series of crimes that, in time, show that not all is what it seems. While there’s yet to be word on whether or not it will continue for a second season, the stakes in which have been set up in the end definitely pose for possibilities.
