Disneyland welcomed Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Attraction on November 15 in the newly renamed Bayou Country (formerly Critter Country). Based on the 2009 animated film The Princess and the Frog, the ride tells the story of Princess Tiana and her upbringing (and entrepreneurship) in New Orleans in the 1920s.

Disneyland Resort’s ‘Tiana’s Bayou Adventure’ is a Bayou-tiful Reimagining on a Classic

For years, Disneyland guests have braved the waters of Splash Mountain attraction. Though it was a beloved ride to many, aspects of it were outdated and offensive. So, like the resort, it got modernized as “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure,” a whimsical water-based adventure based on The Princess and the Frog for a new generation while retaining the original’s fun spirit.

‘Tiana’s Bayou Adventures’ Opens at Disneyland This November

Tiana’s Bayou Adventures ride finally gets an opening date — November 15, 2024, at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, in which Critter County will officially be renamed “Bayou Country.”

The trip to the bayou just got a little more fun for Disneyland guests as Critter Country at the Disneyland Resort will be home to two new reimagined retail shops inspired by The Princess and The Frog. These new enhancements will be perfect for when “Tiana’s Adventure” opens later this year.

And it’s not out of selfishness or something petty. ‘Tiana’s Palace’ is a Sweet and Savory New Orleans-Inspired Escape

Disneyland’s French Market Restaurant has been a staple of the park’s New Orleans Square for as long as I can remember. The quick-service Cajun- and Creole-inspired eatery featuring a garden patio and live jazz is being reimagined into Tiana’s Palace. Inspired by the princess’ dream restaurant in Disney’s The Princess and The Frog, Disney Imagineers transformed the French Market Restaurant space into a place that acts as a love letter to the film in its design and cuisine.
