‘Kate’ Shoots Up Tokyo in New Trailer for the Netflix Film

I really had high hopes for this one. The premise was pretty cool: an assassin has to take out the people responsible for poisoning her before she succumbs to death from the poison. And admittedly the action sequences look amazing. And I really do love Mary Elizabeth Winstead. But yet again, we’re getting another movie where Americans go into an Asian country and start shooting up minorities.

Spider-Man Day with Jordan Chiles, Simone Biles, and Their Amazing Olympic Friends

August 1 is Spider-Man Day, celebrating Marvel Comics’ best-known character in all his myriad incarnations. This year, August 1 also happens to be the first day of gymnastics individual event finals at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. If you are in Japan, where it is already tomorrow (relative to the United States): ハッピー スパイダーマン デー! Team USA gymnast Jordan Chiles, an avid Spider-Fan, performs her floor exercise accompanied by a suite of music from the Spider-Man films, including the quote from the classic theme song for the 1960’s animated TV show.

The Exhibition of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon

My time in Japan is dwindling down fast so I have been trying to travel a lot. I went to Tokyo last week to check out a video game exhibit (more on that another time) but my friend informed me that there was a Sailor Moon exhibit over at Tokyo City View, the observation deck in Roppongi Hills. Being a huge Sailor Moon fan, I knew I needed to check it out for myself.

My Visit to Final Fantasy XIV’s Eorzea Cafe

With the Final Fantasy XIV expansion Heavensward coming out in less than a week, the game has been in my mind for the past few days.  It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of the game. Anything Final Fantasy XIV-related, I will eat  it up. Literally.

So when it was announced that they were going to have a FFXIV-themed restaurant open in Akihabara, Japan, I was absolutely thrilled. I have the fortune to be living in Japan so it wasn’t a pipe dream to visit. Back in March, a friend was visiting me and she also wanted to go because she loves the Final Fantasy series. It ended up being one of our first places that we visited in Tokyo.
