‘The Flash’ Returns This November with Five-Part “Armageddon” Premiere

Even though The Flash only ended this July with a wonderfully splendid renewal of the WestAllen vows and a family team-up against an army of Godspeeds, fans won’t have to wait long for the Season 8 premiere! And it’s going to be an action-packed doozy.

The five-part special premiere event entitled “Armageddon” begins on November 16 at 8pm ET and will feature numerous special guest appearances from heroes and villains across the Arrowverse. Joining Team Flash to combat the invading alien force will be Javicia Leslie as Batwoman, Brandon Routh as The Atom, Cress Williams as Black Lightning, Chyler Leigh as Sentinel, Kat McNamara as Mia Queen, and Osric Chau as Ryan Choi. Tom Cavanagh and Neal McDonough will also return as Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash and Damien Darhk to join in on the mayhem.

The CW has offered us more details about “Armageddon” with their description:

A powerful alien threat arrives on Earth under mysterious circumstances and Barry (Grant Gustin), Iris (Candice Patton) and the rest of Team Flash are pushed to their limits in a desperate battle to save the world.  But with time running out, and the fate of humanity at stake, Flash and his companions will also need to enlist the help of some old friends if the forces of good are to prevail.

It sounds like Barry, Iris, and their friends will have a lot to deal with in this season. If anything, Season 7 showed the strengthening and deepening of the WestAllen bond that should remain the driving force of Season 8. Eric Wallace, Executive Producer and showrunner of The Flash has teased more about what fans have to look forward to, both in action and emotional stakes.

“Simply put, these are going to be some of the most emotional Flash episodes ever,” said Wallace. “Plus, there are some truly epic moments and huge surprises that await our fans. And we’re doing them on a scale that’s bigger and bolder than our traditional Flash episodes. So yes, ‘Armageddon’ is a lot more than just another graphic novel storyline. It’s going to be a true event for Flash and Arrowverse fans, old and new. Honestly, I can’t wait for audiences to see what we’ve got planned.”

The Flash returns with “Armageddon: Part 1” on Tuesday, November 16 at 8pm, airing and streaming on The CW.
