We are back, everyone! Peacemaker has returned. Season 2 has officially kicked off with the first episode now streaming on HBO Max. To celebrate, we were recently given the opportunity to suit up and chat with several of the cast members, and today we’re proud to finally bring you our conversations with stars Sol Rodriguez and Steve Agee, and Freddie Stroma and Danielle Brooks.

We absolutely loved the first season of Peacemaker both as an explicit takedown of White supremacy and racism, and narratively as a fun comic book story with great, flawed characters. Creator James Gunn found a way to take a complete loser and jerk like Christopher Smith and turn him into a sympathetic and relatable hero. Part of that was through the work he put into his own transformation, but another part of it was also through the guidance of the friends who helped transform him: The 11th Street Kids!

During Season 1, we had the chance to speak with Agee and Stroma, and were given the wonderful opportunity to chat with them again this time around about how Economos and Vigilante have changed since the first season. However, for this season, we were also given the amazing opportunity to speak with Brooks, and, one of the newest members joining the cast, Rodriguez!

While Economos and Vigilante have always represented the strongest comedic aspects of the series, Brooks’s character Leota Adebayo has always represented the heart, guiding, not just Peacemaker, but also the rest of her team to make the right decisions and find peace within themselves. In contrast, Rodriguez will be playing DC fan-favorite Sasha Bordeaux who will be doing everything she can to tear the 11th Street Kids apart, and take down Peacemaker. As such, it was interesting talking to each of them about their characters’ collective evolutions this season, and what that may hold for the future of the DCU.
