Look Up at the Official Teaser Trailer for ‘Superman’

This week we were given the very special opportunity to see the Superman trailer before anyone else at a press event this past Monday. So we know how very special this one is. In fact, all of the insights we got from the event will be on a separate post, but this trailer is such an event in and of itself, that it genuinely deserves its own article.

12 Songs to Play the ‘Suicide Squad’ Game With as You Un-Kill the Justice League

As Harley Quinn (as voiced by Tara Strong) says at some point in the video game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, “Hear that? That’s the empowering feminist anthem of my internal soundtrack starting.” Begging the question, what anthem is she referring to? Compulsive pop-song-playlist-maker that I am, I have needledropping thoughts.

Discussing ‘Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story’ with the Reeve Family and Filmmakers

One of the most heartfelt pieces of cinema I’ve seen this year was the wonderful documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story. Directed by Peter Ettedgui and Ian Bonhôte, the film takes a look at the amazing Christopher and Dana Reeve, and their story overcoming the adversities that came following the tragedy of Christopher’s 1995 accident.

NOC Review: ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ is a Flawed Work of Fine Art

The moment the credits rolled on Joker: Folie à Deux, the tangible sound of stunned silence filled the theater. It wasn’t unexpected. Minutes before the film screened, we were told by director Todd Phillips that early screenings of the film ended with many saying they needed to process it. There’s so much to unpack from the sequel to the 2019 Oscar-winner, that such a reaction is completely warranted.

The Whole World Smiles (and Sings) in the New ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Trailer

In 2019, the whole world met Arthur Fleck, a down-on-his-luck clown who would come to be known to everyone as Joker. The DC Elseworlds film took audiences by storm, dancing its way to $1B at the box office and a Best Picture nomination (not to mention a Best Actor win for Joaquin Phoenix). NOC Review: ‘Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story’ Will Make You Believe

My hope is that the title for this review won’t get me sued by the makers of Ted Lasso. But in my defense, I’m mostly just playing off the tagline of one of the greatest superhero movies ever made. And in that grand tradition, we now have a stellar documentary telling the inspirational story of one of the most iconic superheroes ever! No, not Superman. The late, great actor and activist, Christopher Reeve.
