It was a pleasant surprise to see an email invite from Super Smack inviting me to the listening party for his next single. It had been a few weeks since I had last seen him but I heard his voice everywhere. “Cute!” and “Grind!”started to show up in rotation through my TikTok For You Page and several of my personal friends would remark hearing the songs in their feeds as well. It was no denying his songs were picking up traction, but what exactly was resonating with the listeners? I finally had the perfect opportunity to find out.
What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than by offering a first look at the most toxic couple in all of comics? Well, that’s exactly what Todd Phillips did on Instagram by revealing our first look at Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn from next year’s highly anticipated sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux.
With the internet still reeling from its epic Super Bowl trailer, the marketing team for this summer’s The Flash is kicking it into high gear with the release of three brand new character posters featuring the titular superhero and his World’s Finest companions, Batman and Supergirl.
Well, more like the Batwing and Batcave. Still it’s no secret that Michael Keaton’s iteration of Batman will feature prominently in The Flash, and the newly released teaser poster just highlights the collision of these two cinematic worlds.
It’s been well over a year since I met Super Smack in our last interview for his song “Black and Gold” featuring Mega Ran, and we’ve talked and hung out several times after. So when he approached me about interviewing him for the singles off his new project, I was a bit hesitant at first, but my curiosity and excitement won out. I’m happy to say that this is the first of many short interviews with Super Smack for each of his upcoming singles and debut album.
Well, ain’t that some shit. Barely a month after announcing his return as Superman on Instagram, Henry Cavill took to the social media platform once again. This time, though, it was to announce the opposite.
Apple and Selena Gomez have just shared the news that Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me will premiere November 4, only on Apple TV+. The new documentary feature film is directed and produced by Alek Keshishian.
It’s been a controversial week for WB and DC. With everything going on with Batgirl, and something of a lackluster showing at Comic-Con, the studio needed to drop some big news. And admittedly news for the sequel to the $1B grossing Joker is big.
Last week, director Todd Phillips took to Instagram to reveal work has begun on the follow-up to his 2019 Academy Award-winning film, Joker. Without caption, the director simply posted the cover of the screenplay — intriguingly subtitled “Folie à Deux” — and a photo of Joaquin Phoenix reading the script.
Disney and Pixar’s Turning Red debuted this week on all major digital platforms and will be available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on May 3, with never-before-seen bonus material including seven deleted scenes, three featurettes and audio commentary with Director Domee Shi. It looks like we’re getting another Asian-led career series from Netflix. Fresh off the success of Sandra Oh’s The Chair, the streaming giant announced a new series based on Helen Wan’s novel, The Partner Track. Created by Georgia Lee, Partner Track tells the story of Ingrid Yun (Arden Cho), an idealistic young lawyer as she struggles with her moral compass and passion for law as she fights to club the partner track at an elite New York City firm.
I have no actual idea what this episode is about, only that I was able to recover it from my harddrive failure. I’m assuming it’s just a catchup episode about what we’re geeking on so it’s a good ep to post when I’m on vacation!

As a kid of the ’90s who loved going to Disneyland, never missed The Rock laying the Smackdown Thursday nights on WWE, and who was majorly obsessed with action adventures like The Mummy, this movie may have been made for me. Disney’s Jungle Cruise is a return to form for big movies with lots of heart, laughter, and a mighty dose of action-adventure that needs to be seen on the biggest screen possible.
