Kaitlyn Dever Officially Joins ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2
If you’ve ever played The Last of Us Part II, you know you’re in for a huge shock! And part of that is courtesy of a character named Abby! As soon as The Last of Us show became a hit, speculation around whether or not they’d move forward with adapting Part II became rampant, and chief among that was who was going to portray Abby. Today, we officially got that answer!
Emmy and Golden Globe nominee, Kaitlyn Dever, will be stepping into the iconic shoes of Abby Anderson from The Last of Us Part II for season 2 of HBO’s acclaimed drama.
Dever is a brilliant actress, starring in amazing films like Booksmart, last year’s No One Will Save You, and the mini-series Dopesick, for which she was nominated for an Emmy.
She’ll be playing Abby Anderson who… actually if you haven’t played Part II, I won’t spoil anything. But it’s a big role.
No word yet on when we’ll see the next season of The Last of Us, but likely sometime in 2025 or beyond. For now, you can bask in the awards warmth the show has been receiving, after picking up several Emmys at this year’s Creative Arts Emmys (including Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for Nick Offerman), and potentially more from the Primetime Emmys later this year; including Outstanding Drama Series, and Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress in a Drama Series for Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.
