Holland Roden and Shelley Hennig Discuss ‘Teen Wolf: The Movie’

Teen Wolf premiered back in 2011 and ran for six seasons, ending in 2017. Holland Roden and Shelley Hennig return as Lydia Martin and Malia Tate in Teen Wolf: The Movie, which is now streaming on Paramount+.

In TEEN WOLF: THE MOVIE, a full moon rises in Beacon Hills and with it a terrifying evil has emerged. The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of banshees, werecoyotes, hellhounds, kitsunes and every other shapeshifter in the night. But only a werewolf like Scott McCall (Posey), no longer a teenager yet still an alpha, can both gather new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced.

“As far as Lydia, she’s just there to solve the crime,” Roden expressed to me. “I think she’s in disbelief that it really could be Allison and you know, she’s dealing with a lot, poor girl. Then you got Jackson cracking jokes, coming in with his London style. So it’s that mixture of when you’re going through a grieving process or just a disbelief process is — in the moments, it’s just too much to take, you kind of do laugh.”

“She’s gonna talk about the look, but let’s see if she has the courage and maturity to be able to have that conversation,” Hennig explained. “It takes some people a lot longer and Malia’s got some issues, she’s far behind. But hopefully for Malia’s heart, she’s able to open up and her and Parrish can see what’s next.”
